My degree project is about what takes up space in another space. Much of architecture is about assigning space, about proportions and about different amounts of space for different functions – a sort of constant negotiation. What happens when something occupies more than its allocated space? What happens if a space has other functions than uninhibited expansion?
In my degree project I have examined what takes up emotional and physical space though three-dimensional sculpting where I have used air as a tool.
Vad som tar plats i ett rum är utgångspunkten för mitt examensarbete. Mycket inom arkitekturen handlar om att utdela plats, om proportioner och om olika mycket plats för olika funktioner – ett slags ständig förhandling. Vad händer när något i ett rum tar mer än sin utmätta plats? Vad händer om ett rum inte har andra funktioner än att bre ut sig ohämmat?
Jag har i mitt examensarbete utforskat vad som tar känslomässig och fysisk plats från ett rum genom ett tredimensionellt skulpterande där jag har använt luften som verktyg.
